I just got back from SuccessConnect in Las Vegas, and wow – the SAP SuccessFactors team puts on a great event! It was really interesting to hear so many perspectives about HR technology and to learn where SuccessFactors is headed. It was also fun to be surrounded by people who are excited about the future of work and committed to supporting the transformation of HR.
Through attending thought-provoking sessions, spending some time on the expo hall floor, and meeting with customers, I learned a lot about the current topics of interest. Several recurring themes emerged among these conversations and sessions. Here are my 3 key takeaways from SuccessConnect 2016:
While SuccessFactors has considerable capabilities, there are some areas where they have chosen to partner with companies like PeopleDoc to extend the power of the platform further. By developing Intelligent Services, it’s easy for other vendors to build products that “listen” to the SuccessFactors environment and build additional functionality. For example, changes to employee attributes in SuccessFactors can trigger events that happen in PeopleDoc. It’s really smart technology, and these deep integrations benefit customers and allow for transformative innovation.
In every session I attended, there was some discussion of the need for innovation in HR technology. While it was interesting to see the incremental improvements some products are making, it was inspiring to be surrounded by individuals seeking to transform how things are currently done. Between the HR professionals looking to change how they interact with employees, to the service providers who help them implement the right technology to enable this change, to the software providers seeking to transform organizations, it’s clear that the SuccessConnect attendees are preparing to face the future of work.

The partner ecosystem for SuccessFactors is extensive. From service providers to technology vendors, it was exciting to see so many people working together to achieve the aforementioned innovation.
At the event, SuccessFactors announced the creation of a new App Center, which will help customers search for technology partners and understand how they work together with SuccessFactors. PeopleDoc is excited to be a part of this App Center, which will launch in Q4. You can see a sneak preview here.
In short, SuccessConnect was a blast, and I’m already looking forward to the next one!
