In the opening session at SuccessConnect Vienna, SAP division president Mike Ettling shared his perspective on what's driving innovation. Three of the drivers were predictable (all about the makeup and demands of the workforce), but one was more surprising: simplification & standardization. This is related to the shift to cloud, which is not a surprising trend, yet it was interesting how Mike contrasted the immature state of HR processes versus accounting and some other corporate disciplines.
At PeopleDoc, we see this trend playing out with our clients in two ways: (1) increasing demand for process templates and best practices to speed creation and implementation of common employee processes, and (2) continued demand for HR-friendly tools making it simple to create forms and workflows to support new or unique employee processes.
The SAP SuccessFactors team also made three announcements:
The new SAP App Center is now open. Designed to help HR teams make the most of the App economy, partner solutions including PeopleDoc for HR Service Delivery are now available on the site.
A new SAP Managed Payroll service is available for on premise customers as a bridge to cloud. This is delivered with the help of partners.
#businessbeyondbias is an initiative to help companies achieve more diverse and competitive workforce. Employing this will help companies find the talent out there and combat the myth of a talent shortage. SAP announced a partnership with Girls in Tech, a global organization encouraging girls to pursue and gain equality in Tech careers. SAP is also making available a new ebook that is a guide of all the capabilities in SuccessFactors that can help overcome bias.
